Lima Rural Development Foundation is a South African non-governmental, non-profit organisation established in 1989. It works with rural communities to reduce poverty and build lasting livelihoods, with a strong focus on women. ### Where is Lima based? Lima's head office is at 5 Montrose Park Boulevard, VCC Estate, Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. Project sites run across South Africa and into Lesotho. ### What kind of work does Lima do? Lima works in four areas: agriculture and food security, construction and engineering, environmental rehabilitation, and youth and social development. ### How does Lima work with communities? Every programme starts with community consultation and planning, using Participatory Rural Appraisal workshops so the community ranks its own priorities.
